Wakame is a sea vegetable, is a traditional Japanese food, which is dark green in color and thin shape. The scientific name of the Wakame is Undaria pinnatifida. It belongs to the genus Alariaceae family. It is believed that this sea vegetable is native to Japan since the Nara period. Generally wakame is used in salads and soups.
