Tamarillo is one of the delicious fruits, which is similar in appearance as tomato and cultivated in many regions throughout the world with numerous health advantages. The scientific name of Tamarillo is Solanum betaceum and also known tree tomato. It belongs to the Genus Solanum, family Solanaceae. It is believed that Tamarillo is native to the Andes of Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia and Colombia., but now it is also cultivated widely all over the world for domestic and commercial purpose. The word tamarillo is found in New Zealand in 1967. Later tamarillo is perceived as a tropical natural fruit which is developed in tropical atmospheres.
