Jackfruit is also known as "Katahal" in Hindi is a delicious fruit cultivated in many regions throughout the world with numerous health benefits. The scientific name of jackfruit is Artocarpus heterophyllus. It belongs to the diverse mulberry family. It is believed that this herb is native to southwestern rain forests of India. The jackfruit wood is widely used in making furniture and musical instrument. In India this delicious fruit is grown in almost all states in large scale, such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Odisha.
